Simone Sippola | Communications & Media
Simone is a Porirua local, and this is her third year with Olé. She looks after academy communications and media, day-to-day operations and the on-site residential facility.
Using sport and physical activity as a medium, Simone’s background is in youth development. She established the first boxing programme for girls and young women at Cannons Creek Boxing Academy, where she was a Head Coach for two years. She then went on to grow this throughout the region, supporting other boxing gyms and academies to set up similar youth development initiatives.
Simone was also involved with Shift, an organisation co-designing and delivering physical activity, wellbeing and leadership programmes for girls and young women. She was the youngest of 15 women across New Zealand selected for the Sport New Zealand Women in Leadership Programme in 2018.
Involved in community development, Simone is a Wellington Community Trust board member and has been part of a project establishing a health service for youth in Porirua. She was named as one of 25 Influential Women in Porirua.
Simone is also a Capital Football board member. She’s been involved with grassroots football coaching around the region, and particularly enjoys working with girls and young women. Simone coaches in our Junior Academy and has an NZF Youth Level 2 Coaching Certificate.
