Olé Football Academy are happy to announce that new Head Goalkeeper Coach, Froylan Onofre, has arrived in New Zealand and is officially on board with the team!
Froylan has most recently been working at SV Darmstadt 98 in Germany. Originally from California, Froylan left his home state on a journey to hone his craft of coaching in Europe.
He will be coming to New Zealand with experience coaching at multiple levels and leagues including; US Soccer Development Academy, US University, and Youth Bundesliga.
Here is a message from Froylan:
I am excited to be joining you guys mid February as your goalkeeper trainer. I can’t wait to get on the pitch and give my all to help you guys reach your best.
We will work on every aspect of goalkeeping with the same importance, as nowadays keepers must be well rounded footballers. I will translate my knowledge onto every single one of you specifically to ensure that we all develop into better versions of ourselves on and off the field. My objective is to make sure every detail of your game is sharp and to instill confidence to showcase your ability every time you take the field.
I will never expect any of us to be perfect. Every training we’ll push ourselves to learn and get better step by step. Mistakes will be made, but every mistake will be a learning experience and with time we’ll be where we want to be with our performances.
I’m really looking forward to meeting each and every one of you guys personally. Let’s do big things together!
We are looking forward to integrating Froylan into the team and having him work with all of our young goalkeepers to help them continue learning and developing to be the best they can be.
