Celebrating 20 years of developing the New Zealand footballer, Olé Football Academy is proud to partner with Western Suburbs Football Club in an initiative to develop the Wellington-based youth footballer. The partnership offers a direct pathway from junior to senior football and demonstrates a proven track record of success in developing the elite New Zealand footballer.
The 9th – 14th grade Western Suburbs player trains exclusively with the professional staff at the Olé Football Academy. Depending on age, players will train 2 – 4 times per week for the duration of the club season and play competitive games for respective Western Suburbs teams on weekends. The Olé Football Academy training schedule runs from early March – to the junior club season end in late August.
Players interested in joining the Olé Football Academy and Western Suburbs Football Club partnership must submit an expression of interest with Olé Football Academy as well as register with Western Suburbs Football Club (click here) you can also register with Western Suburbs Football Club online (click here) prior to trials. Once expressions are received players will be sent further information regarding trials, programme costs, training schedules, etc.
If a player trials unsuccessfully for the academy – club partnership, registration fees will be reimbursed minus an administration fee of $15.00.
Currently the partnership plans to include;
9th Grade – 2 teams (18 players)
10th Grade – 2 teams (18 players)
11th Grade – 2 teams (22 players)
12th Grade – 2 teams (22 players)
13th Grade – 1 team (15 players)
14th Grade – 1 team (15 players)
Trial dates are as follows;
Saturday, February 25th:
10:00 am – 11:00 pm 9th Grade
11:15 am – 12:15 pm 10th Grade
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm 11th Grade
2:00 pm – 3:30 pm 12th Grade, 13th Grade and 14th Grade
