Nick Stanton | Head GK Coach & Community Co-ordinator

Nick joined the Olé Football Academy coaching team in early 2022, bringing a wealth of experience as a goalkeeper and coach. His coaching journey began in 2018 as the Football Development Officer for the Marlborough region. During the 2018/2019 Summer, he played for Tasman United in the ISPS Handa Premiership and served as their Academy Head Coach and Goalkeeper Coach for the team while still based in Marlborough.

In 2019, Nick joined North Wellington FC, where he became heavily involved in the junior and senior game and played Central League Football. He holds an NZF Youth Level 2 and OFC/NZF GK C-License. By the end of 2021, he was working with Capital Football in their NAGT teams and Capital Women’s National League squad.

Nick is now the Head Goalkeeper Coach at the Academy, which involves him developing, implementing and overseeing the training and development of goalkeepers across all levels of the academy. He also works closely with the senior team goalkeepers, providing support and guidance to improve their performances. Nick is an energetic and passionate coach who quickly became a highly valued member of the team. He is passionate about the game and his enthusiasm shines through in his coaching.

Nick plays a key role in coordinating Olé’s community programs such as Football in Schools, Street Football and Cannons Creek Football League. These initiatives are all free and aim to provide opportunities for the community to participate and learn the beautiful game.
