Olé Football Academy is welcoming Connor Wilson as D17 Assistant Coach and residential academy leader for the 2024 football season.
Wilson, who comes to New Zealand from London, Ontario in Canada, brings a wealth of football acunum to Olé FA. Throughout the latter part of his football playing career, he had trained and trialed at Blackburn Rovers FC in the UK, Iazio in Italy and IBV in Iceland, honing in a skill set needed for international football knowledge. This essential knowledge will help benefit our players and residents alike in helping elevate their experiences here at Olé FA, readying them for the international stage and their overseas football debuts.
He has played the majority of his career in League One at FC London and Electric City FC in Canada, while also being the runner up twice for the Golden Boot awards and being named to the All Seasons Team for the league.
“I am excited for this opportunity and looking forward to a great season ahead”, said Wilson.
“We are very excited to welcome Connor to Olé and Western Suburbs”, Coach Alan Koch said earlier today. “He is a great footballer with excellent technical ability and fantastic leadership skills. He will play a major role in guiding our young players in the academy on and off the pitch”.
Wilson has earned a double honours major in Criminology and Sociology from Western University in Canada.
