In the name of Constant and Never-ending Improvement (CANI), Olé Carpool – Commuter Classroom is a weekly news segment we will be running for Olé parents and players. Whether your family’s commute to Porirua is just 5 minutes (Whitby) or 90 minutes (Wairarapa), the drive to training allows an incredible opportunity to tune in, listen and learn together.
Carpool – Commuter Classroom features podcasts, video blogs and media that the Olé staff and Young Olé players (ages 15 – 18) use in their weekly mentorship discussions and round table series. The intention of Olé Carpool – Commuter Classroom content is to bring parents and families along the educational ride ? of youth player and personal development, as well as provide insight into day to day academy conversations.
We hope you enjoy this week’s interview from the Just Kickin’ It Podcast, Episode #93 – Todd Beane. This interview includes so many relevant topics: learning from JC himself, pedagogy, how children learn, alignment through age groups, left foot right foot, character building, football development philosophy, short term loss for long term gain, the purpose of the rondo… it is a ridiculously good listen and we absolutely loved it. It’s just the sort of information we want our parents and players to be engaging with and learning from.
Olé F.A. Trainer, Calle Vredin, recently visited Barcelona FC’s academy and also met with TOVO Academy director, Todd Beane, son – in – law of the late Johan Cruyff, where they discussed youth football pedagogy and philosophy. Check out Todd Beane’s blog for more information on rethinking and redesigning talent development.
