Despite having flown all around the world within a matter of a week, Ryan Thomas was able to excel for PEC Zwolle once again, as they fell to Dutch power PSV Eindhoven 1-0 on Monday, November 19th. Thomas received a rating of 8/10 from the Dutch press, bringing his season average to 6.69, good enough to put him into a tie for the second highest match rating of all players, and first for midfielders, across the Eredivisie.
With each passing match, Ryan continues to receive praise from numerous coaches in Holland, including his former PEC Zwolle manager, Ron Jans, who recently spoke very highly of the 17-time capped New Zealand international:
“He is one of the top players in the Eredivisie, in everything, he has had a long time struggling to keep up physically, but he is now at the top and I would not be surprised if he landed at Real Madrid. I come blindly to FC Groningen, but I would say: Ajax, Feyenoord or PSV, do it now.” – Ron Jans
