Olé Football Academy Graduate, Cory Brown, has signed his first professional contract with Fresno FC Foxes in the USL. Fresno is the affiliate team for Vancouver Whitecaps who compete in the MLS. Cory was selected by Vancouver in the 2018 MLS Super Draft earlier this year. Cory spent the pre season with Fresno and upon arrival of his visa, he has signed and become eligible to play for The Foxes.
For Cory, Olé was a great place for his development, as it opened his eyes to what it was like and what was expected of players at the professional level. “Olé prepared me well in terms of training everyday like professional teams do.” Understanding the mental strength it takes to not only be a professional but also act as a professional was developed during his time at Olé. “The emphasis on mentality is the most important aspect for me. Olé definitely work with me on that both on and off the field which has helped me so far.”
Prior to the MLS Draft, Cory enjoyed a very successful college career at Xavier University where he played in 80 games during his four years as a starter at Centre Back. He chipped in with 5 goals and 9 assists while also captaining The Musketeers during his Junior and Senior seasons.
Cory will get the chance to be selected and make his professional debut for the Foxes in the match day squad this weekend against LA Galaxy II.
