Olé would like to extend a huge welcome to Joe Hall, who we’re excited to have as part of our growing team!
Joe joins Olé from Christchurch, with extensive experience at the highest level of football in New Zealand.
Joe has spent the last 5 years with the Canterbury United Dragons, working with the First Team and in the academy space. He has also worked with a number of clubs around Canterbury as a First Team Coach, Director of Football and Technical Consultant.
With an OFC/NZF A-License, and a PhD where he has looked at specifically applying neuropsychology to sports coaching, Joe brings a high level of competence and unique insight to Olé.
Joe has travelled widely, learning from professional coaches overseas, and speaking at scientific conferences, professional clubs and football associations. These experiences helped him to learn and develop ideas from top practitioners in coaching, sports science and sports psychology.
Not only is Joe here to work with serious players every day and help them to get better, he will support Olé in many other spaces, including coach education, high performance and improving the pedagogical framework and methodology of the academy.
Olé Technical Ben Sippola said, “Olé are always looking for great educators and people that will bring value to our project. The addition of Joe is a huge step for us. We’re looking forward to getting to work with him.”
Commenting on his arrival, Joe said “Ole has a strong identity and track record of helping players become top performers for club and country. I’m looking forward to contributing to that story, using my skills, knowledge and experience to help players become the best they can be. I’m excited to support Ole in evolving its environment, methods and coaches. It’s great to be on board with an organisation that has a clear vision and shared values, it feels like a place where we can really challenge boundaries in coaching practice.”
