Olé FA Staff Update – Tyler Logan Departs for Australia

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

WELLINGTON (December 2, 2024) –  Olé Football Academy announced today that first team assistant and u13 head coach Tyler Logan has departed the academy and Western Suburbs Football Club to pursue a position as Club Development Ambassador with Football Queensland.

Logan arrived at Olé FA in 2020 as a young coach from Christchurch giving him a platform to learn and grow within his profession in football. Some of his highlights during this duration include coaching 16 Age Groups or full internationals, supporting a number of players to receive football scholarships in the USA, coaching in the national league in 2024, coaching the central league team for Olé FA and Western Suburbs Football Club in 2022, winning the U13 CDL competition in 2024 and finally working as an analyst for the Samoan Men’s national team in 2026 world cup qualifiers vs Tahiti, New Zealand and Vanuatu.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with Olé and consider it a privilege to have been a part of this organisation for the last 5 years”, Logan said earlier today.  “As a young coach coming from Christchurch, Olé was willing to take a chance on me and have provided me with the ideal platform to learn and grow throughout my time. On a personal note, I’m excited about the move to Australia to work for Football Queensland and am looking forward to the new challenge and opportunity this presents. Finally, a big thank you to the Olé family for making me feel welcome throughout my time here. You will all be missed and I look forward to being a fan from afar across the ditch”.

“Tyler has been a fantastic ambassador for Olé and Wests,” Coach Koch said earlier in the week. “He was here to help the academy through some challenging times in 2022 and managed to help the club avoid relegation that season in the Central League. Tyler has grown from these challenges and really took the first team and U13 opportunities presented to him this year and was able to flourish in these roles. He has been an integral part of recent successes, and we wish him well with the next step of his journey”.

We wish Tyler all the best in this exciting next chapter of his career.
