Olé FA Welcomes Michal Walesiak

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

WELLINGTON (December 2, 2024) – Olé Football Academy today announced the appointment of Michal Walesiak as a Lead Coach. Michal will assist with our first team and lead one of our TDP teams for the 2025 football season. He will also be the Head of Video Analysis and take charge of the HPP (player development) programme.

Walesiak comes to us most recently from Northland Football Club and has held various positions with his coaching and management journey in football, both in Poland and New Zealand, including assistant coach, director of football, head coach, video analyst, and academy coach.

His role with Olé FA in the senior and youth spaces, and with our video department will go beyond just coaching and will help empower the development of the next generation of Olé players. Walesiak will focus on challenging limited beliefs, will push boundaries, and set up our players to unlock their full potential on and off the pitch, setting up our players for success.

“I’m incredibly excited to join the academy”, Walesiak said this past week. “Ole has its own unique history and mission in New Zealand. With an open heart and a strong desire to learn, I look forward to making a meaningful impact and growing alongside this vibrant community”.

“Our team is incredibly excited to welcome Michal to the academy,” Coach Koch said this past week. “We are lucky to be bringing in a coach with not only excellent experience on the pitch with both senior and youth players, but also a coach who believes in the holistic development of our players. I am excited to work with Michal with the first team, but also see him lead his own TDP team. I have no doubt that he will do a fantastic job with the teams, but also have a big impact off the pitch with video analysis and development work for all individuals in the academy”.

With this hire, Walesiak becomes the newest addition to the Ole FA coaching team for the 2025 football season.
