We are pleased to announce that Olé Football Academy have entered a Memorandum of Understanding with Team Wellington ahead of the 2019/20 season.
This joint arrangement sees two of Wellington’s most successful amateur football entities join forces for the good of football in the Capital.
The partnership between Olé Football Academy and Team Wellington is a perfect fit, as both organisations prioritise the development of young Kiwi players across the Wellington Region. This collaborative approach will optimise our National League and National Youth League pathways.
Logistically, this will see a return to the approach taken back in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons which saw Olé Football Academy sponsor and manage the Team Wellington National Youth League Team.
This support is welcomed by the Team Wellington Board as it provides an opportunity for the best young players in Wellington for the youth and First teams. It also provides important financial support that the club can have absolute confidence in.
Team Wellington Chairman, Peter Chote, is excited by what this partnership means for the club.
“Wellington has so many young, talented players and we believe that this pathway in collaboration with Olé will ensure we retain as many of those players in our region.
“Together, we’re open to players from all clubs and areas within our catchment and I look forward to seeing the talent that comes through,” Chote said.
Olé Football Academy Technical Director, Ben Sippola said the relationship with Team Wellington was one that made sense for football in the region.
“This partnership will be great for young players across the Wellington region. We look forward to working with Scott Hales and the entire Team Wellington organisation to ensure we put a good product on the football pitch.”
