Late winner sees Western Suburbs take lead in Central League

A 90th minute goal by Owen Parker-Price saw Western Suburbs go top of football’s Central League table in week 10.

Midfielder Parker-Price, part of the wider New Zealand under-20 squad this year, netted the late winner to seal a 2-1 victory over eighth-placed Wellington Olympic at Wakefield Park in the final match of the round.

It was 1-1 at halftime after Wests’ Ahmad Mohammadi and Olympic’s Dylan Wood exchanged goals before the 25-minute mark.

The three points took them past Wairarapa United to lead by one point.
