O.F.A Graduate Dan Keat sets sights high in Sweden

Dan Keat’s career is an exciting story.

Dan Keat

After being been born in England he grew up in New Zealand. Played college football in the United States and ended up at LA Galaxy. During two seasons he was a team-mate of David Beckham, Robbie Keane, Juninho and a certain Christian Wilhelmsson.

Injuries and too little playing time meant he began to look for other options. The solution was Sweden and Falkenbergs FF where the midfielder has spent the last three seasons. One in the Superettan, two in the Allsvenskan.

Now he is at Gais in Göteborg.

“It feels good! I think it’s an exciting time to be in Gais. There are many good players here and I think the club is on its way in the right direction” he says, trying to explain the decision to step down a division.

“Falkenberg offered me a contract, but I feel that I want to be somewhere where the coach wants me. I loved my time in Falkenberg, but sometimes you have to move on. I always think of myself as a player. I can play at a high level. And the plan is to go up this year. It will not be easy, but if we come together as a team and work hard, I think we have a good chance.”
