Olé F.A. Newsletter | September – October 2017

Hello Olé Football Academy Community,

Can you believe it? Nearly November!

Time flies when you are having fun.

A timely reminder that building a culture and environment that fosters a love and respect for the beautiful game is of the utmost importance.

Perhaps more than ever, the 21st century football trainer and academy is grappling with the challenge of creating a fun and enjoyable yet, deliberate and purposeful learning environment, where play is abundant and just the right amount of discomfort is present to maximise a child’s potential.

This September – October newsletter aims to fill you in on all of the fun stuff that has been happening at the Olé Football Academy over the past month or so. We hope you enjoy all the hash-tags with appropriate hyperlinks.

Don’t forget to share this with your Young Olé player! After all, everything we do is for them!

#Headspace – Men’s Health recently donated 150 Headspace subscriptions to the academy. Be sure to claim a free application valued at 100 USD on behalf of your Young Olé player from [email protected]. Watch the Headspace intro Meditation For Kids for more information. It’s only 1 minute long.

#Afriendlyreminder – Parents and guardians, please refrain from observing all Young Olé 1, 2 and 3 training sessions, unless specified. Drive safely on academy premises. Do not park in front of the building or use the roundabout access. Parking behind the academy is acceptable. Thank you!

#RT30interview – PEC Zwolle currently sit 3rd in the Eredevisie table after the best start in club history. Zwolle’s main man, Ryan Thomas addresses the importance of adversity in youth football and how it helped prepare him for the BIG time in this recent interview.

#CMCinterview – “Declan Edge has been my mentor for the last two and a half years. He’s looked after me. He’s watched over my football. My time at Olé Football Academy has been the best time of my life.” – Callum McCowatt. Watch full interview.

#EJ&JRreturnfromIndia – Elijah Just and Josh Rogerson recently rejoined Team Wellington Youth and the Young Olé Academy training group after a short stint in India at the U17 World Cup. Check out some fancy footwork that was just right for NZ!

#TB&TOVOtoNZ – “I hope people understand the magnitude of Todd Beane. Barcelona play the way Barcelona play because of Johan Cruyff. This guy lived, worked and breathed football with Johan Cruyff for 15 years, so him coming here, I just hope, there is a real openness and desire to want to learn.” – Ben Sippola.
