OLÉ APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME
The Olé Apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring football trainers / coaches to gain real life experience in the day-to-day running and operations of a full-time professional youth football academy.
It is also a one of a kind opportunity for aspiring amateur and former professional players to continue playing the beautiful game in the World’s most beautiful country, while also getting a taste of life as an Olé staff member.
Apprentice player – trainers have the unique opportunity of representing the academy in one of New Zealand’s most prestigious and competitive amateur leagues.
The Olé Apprentice plays an integral role in the organisation, as much of his / her time is devoted to working alongside Young Olé Academy residents and players on and off the football pitch. Tutoring, supporting, mentoring, training and facilitating in the development and growth of the Young Olé player is the number one objective of the apprentice. Previous apprentice player – trainers have joined the academy from the following U.S. Universities and professional clubs;

After each apprentices time at the academy the Olé staff facilitate in their career aspirations. Previous apprentice player – trainers have gone on to play for teams in New Zealand’s Stirling Sports Premiership (Auckland City, Canterbury United Dragons, Hawkes Bay United, Hamilton Wanderers, Team Wellington), as well as represent the academy as staff members on Men’s U.S. University teams.

Where are they now?!
- Aaron Jones is now playing professionally for Swedish Division 1 club Ängelholms FF, where he has been made club captain.
- Fabian Otte has been named as Goalkeeper Coach for the Football Ferns.
- Greg Rosenthal went on to play for Team Wellington in the (then) ASB Premiership, and is now Assistant Coach Men’s Soccer at Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
- Juan Chang currently represents Canterbury United Dragons in the Stirling Sports Premiership.
- Kyle Segebart has been Volunteer Assistant Coach, University of Dayton.
- Levi Rossi is the Men’s Assistant Coach at University of Denver.
- Sean Morris has been named the Football Development Manager for FC Twenty 11 in Canterbury, New Zealand.
- Tyler Lissette is now playing professionally for Swedish Superettan club IFK Värnamo.
