Olé Football Academy is looking for a full-time Operations and Communications Manager


Want to work in a thriving football organisation? Olé Football Academy is looking for a full-time Operations and Communications Manager!

The Operations and Communications Manager is responsible for ensuring organizational effectiveness through smooth internal operations and managing the academy’s internal and external communications.

Responsibilities: 

Operations Management

  • Day-to-day administrative tasks; including but not limited to; general academy queries, database (Friendly Manager) management, monthly newsletters, facility maintenance coordination, academy residence coordination, event planning, and liaising with partner clubs.
  • Connect all departments of the academy with efficient internal systems/procedures and clear proactive communication.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local schools to ensure academy players are supported.
  • Develop and implement academy gear processes from purchasing to distribution

Communications Management

  • Clear, concise, and consistent communication with all academy stakeholders.
  • Maintain website and social media platforms with regular updates.
  • Create and implement a media plan for the academy.
  • Liaise with Western Suburbs staff to ensure communication and cohesion between club and academy.

Other

  • In coordination with Football Staff, plan recruiting events, programme dates, school holiday training plans, and academy prizegiving.
  • Provide information regarding academy fees, invoicing, payment plans, and scholarships.
  • Recruit and support Academy volunteers, apprentices and interns.
  • Help strengthen the academy’s financial model and business.
  • Manage and facilitate academy HR and induction documentation for staff and players.
  • Facilitate academy visits with recruits and visitors.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with partner clubs across the country.
  • Maintain and improve Academy ‘host family’ network for non-Wellington based players.
  • Other tasks assigned by the Olé CEO.

Qualifications & Education

  • Minimum of 3 years operational management experience preferred.
  • Strong communications background and work experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience in ‘high performance’ sporting organisations preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative management style.
  • Attention to detail is essential as well as the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize work.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
  • Excels at operating in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
